Church is preparing for holiday events. Tomorrow youth ministry is going to have a dessert theatre(!) on Christmas Day (according to New Style). Also they are going to meet New Year together - from 8 pm until 6 am - it's not for old people definitely :o)
And of course on January 7 (according to Old Style) Christmas celebration service will take place in the church. Pray for this event that everything and everyone would be prepared: stage set, music, actors :o)

This week pastor Vlad went to the city of Cheboksary where several people serve who came from our church: pastor Sergey Grigoriev, his wife Yulya and also children minister Alyona Nezhivih. These people are not strange to us, we don't want to loose connection with them, but encourage and help in their needs.
As Vlad has been absent on Wednesday, Kostya Korenkov preached instead of him (for the first time!). Well done, - it was solid and sound.
From October 28 to November 3 our church and High Desert Church had another regular mutual outreach. Check out the article about autumn outreach 2004 to learn how it all was, what there was new, to see photos and even video!
In connection with that several new pictures are added to photo gallery of spring outreach 2004. Look at them!
This Saturday the leaders of youth ministry held long-awaited seminar about relationships between girls and boys. Nothing funny, - it's very urgent matter, especially since many new kids came to youth meetings after recent outreaches.
And our family ministers Kostya and Marianna Korenkovs from November 17 to 21 are going to Beslan - the town of sorry reputation. A missionary team consisted from ministers of different Russian Calvary Chapel churches is going to serve to people whose lives had been tragically changed after September terrorist act. Nobody but Jesus Christ is the One who these people need to make them whole. Please, pray for this trip that God would open doors for missionaries to minister, give them boldness to tell people about Him and keep them safe.
We have new ministry started in our church - family one leading by Kostya and Marianna Korenkovs. For the present time this ministry goes as evening seminars on Sundays about parenting. But Kostya and Marianna have many plans and ministry will grow for sure! Please pray for the new ministry and its new ministers.
And very soon - from October, 28 to November, 2 - we're going to have big outreach mutually with High Desert Church, CA. Praise God, all preparations are going well however pray for some new things we'd like to make this time - advertisement in public transport, on the radio and Internet. Our web-site is back to life! For a quite long time we couldn't update it due to hosting problems. But now all technical obstacles are removed. And we're excited to share with you about recent church events.
The most important and great news is that our assistant pastor Dema Krupennikov has been called by the Lord to become the pastor in Calvary Chapel Church in the city of Kaluga. The number of our missionaries is increasing! Praise God! Pray for Dima, his wife Nadya and their little son Sergey. Pray for the starting of their ministry and moving to Kaluga which will be in October.
Dima's leaving became as an incentive for other people's growth in ministry. Thus Sergey Polyanskih will be the worship leader instead of Dima and Olga Anischenko will be in charge of church audio library of sermons.
And now about events that took place in the church during last three months. In the end of June we had baptism retreat. In the beginning of July youth ministry went on hike. And in the end of July we hold urban youth camp mutually with High Desert Church, CA. You can read articles about these events and see photos.
And... In a month we're going to have regular outreach with brothers and sisters from America. It'll be approximately from October, 24 to November, 3. We already have started preparations. Please pray with us that God would provide everything and this outreach would be fruitful.

As usually last Saturday of June we have baptism retreat. Please pray for those who decidd to go through this important rite and for organization of this event - almost 50 people are going to go!

Last important event for us was the mutual outreach with High Desert Church, CA. It took place on April 23-30. We had been thoroughly preparing for it and waiting that event with great excitement. By God's grace it was wonderful. About 10 new people appeared in the church since then. Some of them already accepted Christ, some of them didn't yet. Please pray for these people that they would adhere with all of their hearts to Jesus despite of external things. The article about April outreach, of course with photos, will be published soon on our web-site.
After the outreach three Americans - Brad Orchard and Reggie and MaryJane Tamoro stayed in Nizhny for closer fellowship with church people. During 6 days of their visit they managed to meet with so many people, they even helped with house repairing and ground opening in the garden. :o) Such visits do really help our people and guys from HDC to know each other personally, become good friends and minister to each other.
And next significant event is not far off - all-Russia family conference of Calvary Chapel Churches, which will be held on May 28-31 in Nizhny Novgorod region. There are 16 families from Calvary Nizhny going to that conference. Reports and photos of those who are going there will be given for sure.
Due to the last outreach many new people came to youth ministry and it brought a lot of "work" for Ilya Tolstov and Jeremy Burrier who run this ministry. This week they are going to start to invite youth, especially unbelievers, to participate in summer camp that will be held on July 15-25 within the framework of our mutual activity with High Desert Church. Pray that through this camp and fellowship with coevals unbelieving teenagers who just like hang around now with church youth would dedicate their lives to Jesus.
Today we have celebrated the Resurrection Day in our church. Pastor Vlad read the sermon reminding us the true meaning of this holiday, then we had communion and after usual time of fellowship many people stayed for special time of worship. Congratulations for everybody!
All of us can hardly wait many interesting events coming in the close future. Very soon brothers and sisters from High Desert Church will come to Nizhny again. Our churches will have a regular mutual outreach in April 23-30. Then in May 28-31 a family conference of Russian Calvary Chapel Churches are planed to be near Nizhny. And at last in July 19-21 together with the same High Desert Church we want to hold a youth summer camp. Please pray for all necessary preparations.
At last the section about February visit of brothers from High Desert Church is finished. You can read there Brad Orchard's and Greg Beckett's reports on how it was for them and also you can see several pictures.
Very soon we shall see them and other missionaries of High Desert Church again. They're coming to Nizhny on April 23-30 for regular outreach, plus some of them are going to stay a week longer for another inreach. Pray for the preparation of these events.
Because of the problems with getting to our church Internet domain we couldn't update our web-site for a couple of weeks. So what's new for now?
The section about Calvary Chapel Churches women's conference that was held near Moscow on February 16-17 is published. 27(!) sisters from our church were there. One of them - Marina Vasilieva - wrote a short article about this trip. Plus to it you can find conference pictures in this section as well.
Continuation of women's topic… On Sunday, March 7, on the eve of Russian Women's Day sisters in our church gave a party to themselves. After the church service they got together for fellowship, left all housekeeping and children-care for their husbands. Soon we're going to show you photos of this event.
And today March 21 after the church Valya Filatova holds a seminar about children brining up. Valya has been working many years as a kindergartner, for her children is life, and of course she has many valuable information on how raise children in the Lord. Several brothers volunteered to take care of children while their parents are at the seminar. A brave deed indeed! :o)
This week we have begun preparations for the next big outreach in April 22-31 that we shall have mutually with missionary team from High Desert Church (CA, USA). Simultaneously with us American brothers and sisters started regular prayer and training meetings for those who are going to come to Russia for the outreach. Join us in prayer.
Also the Lord laid on the heart to our assistant pastor Dima Krupennikov to go around the vicinity of cinema "Iskra" we rent for the services and distribute invitation to come to our church. Pray for this as well.
Attention! From March Wednesday evening service will start at 6.30 p.m. for the convenience of those who are delayed at work.

After the conference from January 30 to February 12 we had as guests two brothers from High Desert church (CA, USA) - Brad Orchard and Greg Beckett. Their visit was a great support and blessing for families and especially for husbands who lead their Christian families along this difficult life. Brad and Greg's visit was a display of special relationships between Calvary Chapel Nizhny Novgorod and High Desert. We can hardly wait what God is going to do in the future through this. Soon a photo gallery about Brad and Greg's visit will be added to our web-site.
